HTML Content Privacy Policy

HTML Content and its developers are committed to protecting and respecting your privacy. This page is used to inform website visitors regarding our policies with the collection, use, and disclosure of Personal Information for anyone who chooses to use the HTML Content custom visual for Power BI.

The HTML Content Custom Visual

The HTML Content custom visual is available for download from either Microsoft Appsource or directly from our GitHub repository.

Data Processing

The custom visual is designed solely for the purpose of visual representation of data. It processes the data provided to it within Power BI to create visualizations. Please note the following:

  • No Data Collection: The visual does not collect any data from users.

  • No Data Transmission: The visual does not send any data to external servers or third parties.

Standard Edition and Standalone Version

The Regular Edition of HTML Content is not certified by Microsoft. We also make a standalone version (the same functionality as the Regular Edition, disconnected from AppSource so as to avoid automatically updating) via our GitHub repository. These versions permit users to access external services such as images and data URLs. However, no data is sent from the visual to any external servers.

Information Collected by Microsoft

Our Power BI custom visual is available via Microsoft Appsource. When you acquire the visual, certain user information is captured by Microsoft. We recommend reviewing Microsoft's Privacy Policy for detailed information on their data collection practices.

Our Use of Collected Information

We solely use the information collected by Microsoft for the purpose of analyzing download metrics. This helps us understand how our custom visual is being used and improve its functionality. Please note the following:

  • No Marketing Use: We do not use this information for marketing purposes.

  • No Third-Party Sales: The information collected is not sold to third parties.

For any significant details regarding data collection and usage, please refer to Microsoft's privacy policy.

Use of Google Analytics

Our website uses Google Analytics, a web analytics service provided by Google LLC ("Google"). With your consent, Google Analytics uses cookies to help us understand how visitors interact with our site, monitor traffic, and improve our services.

Google Analytics is only loaded if you select Accept on the banner shown on your first visit. If you select Decline, or make no choice, the Google Analytics script is not loaded, no analytics cookies are set, and no data is sent to Google.

Your choice is saved in your browser's local storage, not in a cookie. To change it, use the button below. This clears your choice and any Google Analytics cookies, then reloads the page so the banner shows again.

What We Collect

If you accept, Google Analytics sets first-party cookies (_ga and _ga_<id>) and collects details such as the pages you visit, your approximate location, your device and browser type, and the site that referred you.

  • IP Addresses: Google Analytics does not log or store IP addresses. Google uses your IP address to derive an approximate location and then discards it.

  • Aggregate Use Only: We use this data in aggregate, solely to analyze site traffic and usage patterns. We do not use it to identify individual visitors, and we do not use it for advertising.

Opt-Out

You can also block Google Analytics on every website by installing the Google Analytics Opt-out Browser Add-on.

For more information about how Google handles data collected for Google Analytics, please review Google's Privacy Policy.

Our Service may contain links to other sites. If you click on a third-party link, you will be directed to that site. Note that these external sites are not operated by us. We have no control over, and assume no responsibility for the content, privacy policies, or practices of any third-party sites or services.

Children's Privacy

Our Services do not address anyone under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal identifiable information from children under 13. In the case we discover that a child under 13 has provided us with personal information, we immediately delete this from our servers. If you are a parent or guardian and you are aware that your child has provided us with personal information, please contact us so that we will be able to do necessary actions.

We may update our Privacy Policy from time to time. Thus, we advise you to review this page periodically for any changes. We will notify you of any changes by posting the new Privacy Policy on this page. These changes are effective immediately, after they are posted on this page.
